MY RAAM 2024 EXPERIENCE

This competition was held in San Pablo Laguna at Mater Ecclesiae School.I was very excited to play in a big competition like this.We work hard to get in this situation. We practice every day doing hard exercises like jogging, footwork, and lifting weights. After a very long preparation, our day has come. April 8 was the opening of the competition, and there were a lot of people watching and cheering for their region. On the first day, I was not going to play; only the doubles players were going to play, so I just cheered for my teammate, who was going to play in the doubles event. It was very fun cheering for them; their performance was very good. My teammate NJ and Gelo won a silver medal, and I was so proud of them. Then the next day, April 9, I was going to play against my previous teammate from Rizal. FYI, I am really from Rizal; I just transferred here to Cavite because my coach in Rizal recruited me to be a varsity player in PCU. So back to the topic, I was very nervous about her, but thank God I won against her.On the next day, April 10, I am going to fight against Lucena City. If I win against Lucena, I will fight again against Rizal,i won against Lucena city in the standing of 3-1.So after the game, I was supposed to play again against Rizal because both were in the losers bracket. It was a very close yet intense fight. I lost to her in the standings of 2–3, so I was sad because I lost. I was not going to play again against Quezon, just as I expected, and I was not going to play in Palorong Pambansa, but I was happy at the same time because I was happy that my previous teammate won.

I worked hard just to win this competition but still got nothing. I was so sad because I'm not going to Palarong Pambansa, but I guess that's not for me. This competition taught me a lot of lessons, like being more confident because I was so shy that the people watching me were going to judge me. I must be confident about my skills and focus on my game, not on the people who are watching me.Second, I learn to accept my mistakes because I know that I made a lot of mistakes during the game, and lastly, I learn to accept losing because losing is going to make you realise things like what your error is and what skills you will improve next. Losing is just a stepping stone into winning, so I am still going to pursue my dreams to become a good player, and I am going to practice and practice just to achieve them.

Im Marbie Joy Villacastin,17 years old a student athlete dreamer who's willing to do anything and to work hard just to achieve my dreams.I hope this blog inspires you to not give up because of a failure always choose to fight and achieve your dreams no matter what happens.

  1. Marbie, you are right to accept defeat because we don't win all the time. Good job on your game 😉 and I hope you continue your journey.
